聖霊を別の言葉で言い換えるなら、愛という言葉がふさわしいかもしれません。神は愛であり、聖霊はその神の一つの姿だからです。聖霊は、人格化された愛です。聖書を読むと、何度も「神の霊」「御霊」「聖霊」という言葉にぶつかると思います。これらはみな一つの聖霊を指した言葉です。「父と子と聖霊によって」という祈りの言葉を聴いたことがある方もいらっしゃるかもしれません。これは父なる神とイエス・キリスト、そして聖霊と言う、三位一体の神を表した表現です。聖霊とは、人の内に住む神の姿です。聖霊は聖書の原語では息や風という意味も持った言葉が使われています。風は目には見えません。しかし私たちは肌で、また風にそよぐ木々や葉、舞い落ちる花びらを見て、その存在を知ることができます。
聖霊も同じです。目に見えるものではありませんが、確かにその存在を感じ、そして人を動かし、根本的に全てを変化させることができる神の力です。
私の好きな讃美歌に、「聖霊来たれり」という歌があります。その歌詞の中に「目に入るもの皆輝く」という言葉があります。この言葉の語ることを私は体験したことがあります。それはまさに聖霊が私に降った体験でした。
物心つく前からキリスト教を知っていましたし、神様の存在を信じていましたが、神様と本当に出会ったと言える体験を、はっきりと覚えています。
それは母が病気になったことをきっかけに起こりました。母はヨハネの福音書の「この病は死で終わるものではなく、神の栄光をあらわすもの」というみことばによって本当に力を受けていました。私は母の中に生きる神の力を見ました。その後、私は出会う人一人一人の一番美しい部分を見ているようなキリスト者の方に出会いました。どうしたら自分もそのようになれるだろうと思った時、一人一人の人間は自分そのものなのだと神が語る聖書の場面が浮かびました。例えば、キリスト教を世界に伝えた使徒パウロはかつてキリスト者に対して熱心な迫害をする者でした。そのパウロに向かって、十字架に掛かって死んだあと、復活したイエス・キリストはこう語ります。「なぜ私を迫害するのか。」この出会いによってパウロは迫害者から伝道者へと変わります。キリストにとって、パウロが迫害していたキリスト者達は自分そのものだったのです。また、新約聖書マタイの福音書25章には「あなたがたが、これらのわたしの兄弟たち、それも最も小さい者たちの一人にしたことは、わたしにしたのです。」という言葉があります。一人一人が他の人間に対してしたことを、神は自分に対してしたことだと捉えるのです。
私は、「私に出会った人はイエス様なのだ」と思いました。そう思うと今まで目に入らなかったバスで一緒に乗り合わせる人や道端のホームレスの方などが急に近しい存在として感じられるようになりました。私の中に暖かいものが宿り、過去の辛い記憶が自分にもたらされた赦しとともに癒されました。そして、目に映る景色は、全て輝いて見えました。「目に入るもの皆輝く」です。
キリストは、キリスト者となることを「霊によって生まれる」と表現しています。まさに私が新しく生まれた体験でした。私に聖霊が働いたのです。そして私は神を伝える者へと変えられました。
聖書の始め、創世記には、人に神の霊が与えられ人は生きるものとなったと語られています。神の霊である聖霊は、いのちの源です。人に罪が入ってから、人は霊的に死んだ者となりました。キリストが生まれる前、旧約聖書における神の霊は特定の人に注がれるものでした。しかしキリストは十字架にかかる前、全ての人のために聖霊を遣わすことを約束します。

聖書には人は聖霊によってイエスを主と告白すると語られています。私たちが神を信じるのは、まさに聖霊の御業なのです。また、神は私たちを子供とする霊を与えてくださったことも、聖書に示されています。この聖霊によって、私たちは神を誰よりも親しい父親として「アッバ」と呼ぶことができます。アッバとは中東で今も使われている、父親に対しての親密な表現です。この聖霊によって、神は私たちを子供とし、最愛のイエス・キリストと共にすべての良いものを与えてくださったのです。
聖霊はキリストについて教える、私たちに内住する神です。この聖霊は、キリストが十字架にかかって復活した後に与えられました。新約聖書の使徒の働きには約束された聖霊が世に下り一人一人のもとに降った時のことが書かれています。その場には大勢の人がいましたが、その時皆が聖霊で満たされました。キリストの弟子たちはキリストの生前、キリストを裏切る行動を起こすような弱さを伴っていました。しかし、この聖霊を受けたのち、彼らは別人のように何者も恐れずいのちをかけてキリストを宣べ伝える者となりました。聖霊が彼らを変えたのです。彼らを通して神が余すところなく働くようになったのです。
使徒の働きという書物にはキリストの弟子たちがあらゆる場所に福音を宣べ伝える姿が描かれています。聖霊は彼らを導く役割を負います。行くべき場所に導き、また行ってはならない場所には行かないようストップをかけ、宣べ伝えるキリスト者を励まし、強めます。
聖霊は今も変わらず全く同じ役割をキリスト者に対して果たします。キリストへの信仰を与え、人を真理へと導きます。また人を癒し、愛する人へと変えます。弱さを神の働く機会と変え、愛による強さを人に与えます。人を行くべき場所に導き、人の歩みを神の栄光をあらわすものへと変えるのです。
聖霊は私たちの祈りも導きます。どう祈ればよいかわからないような時が訪れたとしても、聖霊によって、私たちは人の言語を超えた祈りをすることができます。
聖霊は生きる神の力です。もし悲しみや不安に苛まれることがあるなら、あなたの中にあたたかな聖霊の強い力が感じられるまで聖書の御言葉を読み、祈ってください。聖霊に満たされた時、人は喜びと平安を知ります。人に最も奥深い不変の幸せを与えるもの、最も奥深いところからの不変の喜びを与えるのが聖霊です。聖霊は人にとって最も大切な不可欠な存在です。求めれば必ず与えられることが、聖書に約束されています。
「ですから、あなたがたに言います。求めなさい。そうすれば与えられます。捜しなさい。そうすれば見出します。たたきなさい。そうすれば開かれます。だれでも求める者は手に入れ、探す者は見いだし、たたく者には開かれます。あなたがたの中で、子どもが魚を求めているのに、魚の代わりに蛇を与えるような父親がいるでしょうか。卵を求めているのに、サソリを与えるような父親がいるでしょうか。ですから、あなたがたは悪い者であっても、自分の子どもたちには良いものを与えることを知っています。それならなおのこと、天の父はご自分に求める者たちに聖霊を与えてくださいます。」

聖霊はだれよりも近くであなたを助ける助け主であり、慰め主です。あなたを決して離れません。キリスト者とは聖霊によって生きる者です。

Who is the Holy Spirit?
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
John 14: 16-17
If I paraphrase the Holy Spirit in another word, “love” may be appropriate. Because God is love and the Holy Spirit is one figure of God. The Holy Spirit is personalized love. When you read the Bible, you will often come across the words "God's spirit," "spirit," and "Holy spirit." All of these are words that refer to one Holy Spirit. You may have heard the words of prayer, "By the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." This is an expression of one God in the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is the image of God who lives in us. The Holy Spirit is used in the original language of the Bible, which also means breath and wind. The wind is invisible. But we can see its existence on our skin and by looking at the trees and leaves swaying in the wind and the falling petals.
The same is true for the Holy Spirit. It is not visible, but it is the power of God that can certainly feel its existence, move people, and fundamentally change everything.
One of my favorite hymns is the song "The Comforter Has Come". In the lyrics, there is the word "everything you see shines". I have experienced of this word. It was exactly the experience of the Holy Spirit falling on me.
I’ve known Christianity since I was a child, and I’ve believed in the existence of God, but I clearly remember the experience that I could say that I really met God.
It happened when my mother got sick. My mother was really encouraged by the words of John's Gospel, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.”I saw the power of God living in my mother. After that, I met a Christian who seemed to see the most beautiful part of each person he met. When I wondered how I could be like that, I came up with a scene in the Bible which God said that each person was himself. For example, the apostle Paul, who introduced Christianity to around the world, was once an avid persecutor of Christians. Jesus Christ, who was resurrected after he died on the cross, said to Paul: "Why do you persecute me?" This encounter transforms Paul from a persecutor to an evangelist. For Christ, the Christians who Paul was persecuting were themselves. Also, Matthew chapter 25 of the New Testament says, "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." What each person did to other people is what he or she did to God.
I thought, "Everyone who met me is Jesus." I suddenly felt that people who ride on a bus that I haven't seen before and homeless people on the roadside are close existence for me. A warm feeling dwelled in me, and the painful memories of the past were healed with the forgiveness brought to me. And all the scenery I saw was shining, as the lyrics " Everything you see shines "
Christ describes being a Christian as "born of the spirit." It was a new experience for me. The Holy Spirit worked on me. And I was transformed into a God-transmitter.
At the beginning of the Bible, Genesis says that man was given the spirit of God and he became alive. The Holy Spirit, the spirit of God, is the source of life. After sin came into a man, he became spiritually dead. Before Christ was born, the spirit of God in the Old Testament was poured into a particular person. But Christ promises to send the Holy Spirit for all before he is crucified.
" And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you." John 14:16-17
" But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you." John 14:26
The Bible says that one confesses Jesus as the Lord by the Holy Spirit. It is the work of the Holy Spirit that we believe in God. The Bible also shows that God has given us the spirit who make us His children. This Holy Spirit allows us to call God "Abba" as the closest father. Abba is an intimate expression for a father that is still used in the Middle East. Through this Holy Spirit, God made us children and gave us all the good things with our beloved Jesus Christ.
The Holy Spirit is God who teaches about Christ and lives in us. This Holy Spirit was given after Christ was crucified and resurrected. Acts in the New Testament describes the time when the promised Holy Spirit fell into the world and fell to many people who heard the sermon of Peter. There were a lot of people there, but then they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. During Jesus lived, His disciples were vulnerable and betrayed Christ. However, after receiving this Holy Spirit, they became strong and preached Christ to everyone. The Holy Spirit changed them. Through them, God came to work to the fullest.
The book of Acts depicts the disciples of Christ preaching the gospel everywhere. The Holy Spirit is responsible for guiding them. Encourage and strengthen preaching Christians by guiding them where they should go and stopping them from where they shouldn't.
The Holy Spirit still plays the exact same role for Christians now. He gives faith in Christ and guides people to the truth. It also heals people and transforms them into the persons who love God and others. It transforms weakness into an opportunity for God to work and gives people strength through love. It guides people to where they should go and transforms their steps into the glory of God.
The Holy Spirit also guides our prayers. The Holy Spirit allows us to pray beyond human language, even when we do not know how to pray.
The Holy Spirit is the power of the living God. If you experience sadness or anxiety, read and pray for the words of the Bible until you feel the mighty power of the Holy Spirit in you. When filled with the Holy Spirit, one knows joy and peace. It is the Holy Spirit that gives people the most profound and unchanging happiness, and the most profound and unchanging joy. The Holy Spirit is the most important and indispensable being for human beings. The Bible promises that you will always be given Holy spirit if you ask.
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Luke 11: 9-13
The Holy Spirit is the helper and comforter who helps you closer than anyone else. He will never leave you. Christians are those who live by the Holy Spirit.

The book of Acts depicts the disciples of Christ preaching the gospel everywhere. The Holy Spirit is responsible for guiding them. Encourage and strengthen preaching Christians by guiding them where they should go and stopping them from where they shouldn't.
The Holy Spirit still plays the exact same role for Christians now. He gives faith in Christ and guides people to the truth. It also heals people and transforms them into the persons who love God and others. It transforms weakness into an opportunity for God to work and gives people strength through love. It guides people to where they should go and transforms their steps into the glory of God.
The Holy Spirit also guides our prayers. The Holy Spirit allows us to pray beyond human language, even when we do not know how to pray.
The Holy Spirit is the power of the living God. If you experience sadness or anxiety, read and pray for the words of the Bible until you feel the mighty power of the Holy Spirit in you. When filled with the Holy Spirit, one knows joy and peace. It is the Holy Spirit that gives people the most profound and unchanging happiness, and the most profound and unchanging joy. The Holy Spirit is the most important and indispensable being for human beings. The Bible promises that you will always be given Holy spirit if you ask.
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Luke 11: 9-13
The Holy Spirit is the helper and comforter who helps you closer than anyone else. He will never leave you. Christians are those who live by the Holy Spirit.
